Do you confuse through with across ?

1.  through：經過、通過、穿過

是有穿過的意思，通常指穿越有遮蔽之處，例如說從公園的這邊穿到另外一邊，或者是一個範圍你從這一邊走到另外一邊。

Ex1.  She walks through a park. 她穿過了一座公園。

Ex2.  We walk through the woods. 我們穿越樹林.

Ex3.  We walk through the tunnel. 我們走過隧道.

Ex4.  We drove through the center of Taipei. 我們開車經過台北市中心。

2.  across：(adv.)橫越、穿過、到那邊

大多是用於到對面的時候。

Ex1.  We walk across the road. 我們走過馬路.

Ex2.  He jumped across the river. 他跳過那條河流。

＊ across from 在…的對面

Ex1.  The post office is just across from the club. 郵局就在那俱樂部對面。

比較：cross (v) 越過、渡過、交叉

Ex1. They crossed the river by boat. 他們乘舟渡河。

     = They crossed the river in a boat.

Ex2. Look right and left before you cross the street. 過馬路前先看左右方。

Ex3. She sat down and crossed her legs. 他坐下來，雙腿交叉著。

        cross (n) 十字形、十字架

Ex1. There is a cross on the top of the church. 那座教堂的頂端有座十字架。
